In 1954, Marlon Brando

The Perfecto® Schott appeared as a central prop in the cult film “The Wild Ones”, starring Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin. The ever more frequent appearance of the jacket and its growing popularity actually led to lower sales! The Perfecto® was banned in many schools because it was often associated with thugs!

 

James Dean 

In 1955, when James Dean – a symbol of teenage rebellion – died in a car crash, sales exploded. His tragic death propelled the motorcycle jacket into fashion and re-energized Schott’s sales.

PERFECTO® TRADEMARK

In 1928 Schott Bros. founder Irving Schott created the first modern day motorcycle jacket which he branded Perfecto®. Since then the Perfecto® jacket has become iconic on the back of rock stars, runway models, movie stars, and real everyday working heroes.

The only true Perfecto® jackets are those made by Schott NYC, and because of the history and pride behind our work we defend our trademark and intellectual property to the fullest possible extent.
